1. Introduction

Water supply and drainage generally refers to urban water supply system and drainage system. It mainly has three development directions: water supply works, drainage works, architectural water supply and drainage works.

2. Training Objectives

Water supply and Drainage trains senior engineering and technical talents who have the knowledge of urban water supply engineering, drainage engineering, architectural water supply and drainage engineering, industrial water supply and drainage engineering, water pollution control planning and water resources protection, and can be engaged in work like planning, design, construction, management, education, research and development in government department, planning departments, economic management departments, environmental protection departments, design units, industrial and mining enterprises, research institutes, universities, technical secondary schools, etc.

3. Knowledge and Ability

1)Students should master the basic theory and knowledge of water supply and drainage like general chemistry engineering mechanics, surveying, engineering drafting, microbiology, hydraulics, electrical engineering, etc.

2)Students should master the basic principles and design methods of water supply engineering, drainage engineering, architectural water supply and drainage engineering, industrial water supply and drainage engineering;

3)Students should have the preliminary ability of pollution monitoring and analysis, environmental monitoring, environmental quality assessment, environmental planning and management;

4)Students should know about the theoretical frontier and development trends of water science and technology, environmental science and technology;

5)Students should master the basic methods of document retrieval and data query, and have the ability of doing scientific research and doing practical work.

4.Main Courses

Engineering mechanics, surveying, hydraulics and water pumps, water treatment microbiology, general chemistry.

5. Practical Teaching

Surveying practice, engineering drafting, computer application and hands-on practice, hydraulic testing, microbiological testing, water quality analysis experiment, water treatment experiment, curriculum design, cognition practice, graduation practice and graduation design (Thesis), etc.

6. Employment Prospects

Graduates can be engaged in planning, design, management, scientific research and teaching of water supply and drainage in design department, planning department, environmental protection department, scientific research institutions, universities, industrial and mining enterprises, economic management departments, government departments, etc.
